About me

I'm Thibault Milan. I run digital and platform strategy at Paperjam, Luxembourg's leading business and economics media — where the daily job is turning AI hype into things that actually ship and audiences that actually stay.

Before that, I spent eight years building and leading the innovation practice at Smile. A decade-plus in tech taught me one durable lesson: most transformation fails not because the technology is wrong, but because the organization isn't ready for it.

That's the gap I work in.

What I actually do

I help organizations move from "we should do something with AI" to "this is in production and it works." Less slideware, more shipping.

My work sits at the intersection of three things:

• AI transformation — hands-on implementation, not theory. I've seen why most AI projects die between the proof-of-concept and production, and I build to avoid that fate.
• Platform & product strategy — how digital products earn their audience, and how teams structure themselves to keep delivering.
• Digital leadership — the unglamorous part: executive buy-in, culture change, and knowing when a project (or a chapter) is done.

Beyond the work

I'm a maker. I design 3D-printed objects and share them openly — successes and failures both, because honest documentation helps people gain confidence faster than polished portfolios do.

I'm also a healthy skeptic when it comes to tech that promises more than it delivers — and I write about that, less diplomatically, on my personal blog.

I manage ADHD, which sounds like a footnote but isn't. It shaped how I work: structured systems, deep focus when it counts, and a low tolerance for process that exists for its own sake. It's part of why I'm good at spotting what actually matters in a messy project.
